Bivouac in Kayak

A taste of adventure in Packraft

For adventurers who love water sports who aspire to explore the Barcelonnette valley and discover the PackRaft along the dynamic Ubaye route, without having to travel long distances,

This expedition offers a short but effective experience in terms of sensations on the river, incredible landscapes and discovery of the bivouac.

The Packraft descent on the Ubaye

During the first day, at the end of the afternoon, you will venture into a navigation of approximately one hour to learn the techniques of PackRaft, on class III rapids passage IV before reaching our bivouac place.

Setting up the camp and preparing the meals will be done together. The next morning, after breakfast, tidying up and cleaning the camp, we will resume our descent on the river in PackRaft for an hour, until the magnificent isolated gorges of Lauzet-Ubaye. The return to the Crazy Water base is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

It's a 9 km class III-IV course.

The bivouac on the banks of the Ubaye

Camping is done either in a hammock or on a camping mattress under the stars. In case of high humidity, tarps will be provided. You will need to carefully choose a beautiful location, find beautiful trees to install your hammock, light a fire and enjoy the gentle murmur of the river to relax. Also be sure to create a dedicated toilet area. Although setting up camp may take some time, your guide will be there to assist you every step of the way.

Meals for a friendly moment

Once camp is set up at the water's edge, your guide will share his knowledge about bivouac meals. Together you will prepare bread and perhaps vegetable pancakes for dinner and breakfast. To add a touch of conviviality to the meal and not be limited to bivouac food, we also advise you to bring your sausages for a barbecue at the water's edge. This will make the atmosphere even more pleasant.
