Welcome to our whitewater base
You have booked a Hydrospeed session: the meeting is at Crazy Water Rafting, at Lauzet Ubaye 04340 which is located at the entrance to the Barcelonnette valley. If you are early, you can relax with a complimentary coffee and also discover our natural and unusual environment !
Once at reception, the Crazy Water team gives you a neoprene wetsuit and the rest of the equipment (vest, helmet, fins, hydrospeed, etc.). After the equipment, we access the departure of the river course, with our 9-seater mini-bus.

After an explanatory briefing from the river guide, you set off on the water in a small group. The Hydrospeed descent on the Ubaye is 1h30 of exploration incredible where you hurtle down the rapids with your board and swim in the middle of a wild river. The passage into the narrow gorges of Lauzet, under the Roman bridges, adds to this magnificent route.
Aquatic sensations in a mountain river
Once the course is finished, rinsed well, the mini-bus picks you up at the finish, to take you back to the Crazy Water base. It's time to change and look at the photos that were taken along the route. If you wish, the Photo documentary will be available for a very reasonable price.

Where is the legendary course for white water swimming?
The Ubaye is the river par excellence for practicing whitewater sports in France. Its reputation comes from its course varied with numerous rapids and beautiful landscapes.
Our Crazy Water reception base is located in Lauzet-Ubaye, at the arrival of the Hydrospeed course in the Barcelonnette Valley, practically at the mouth with the Serre Ponçon lake. We are very close to the Ubaye whitewater course, which saves shuttle time and therefore more time to have fun on the water!
The departure is located very precisely at the LongeFessol rest area which is 2 km below the village of Martinet and 15 km from Barcelonnette, therefore 6 km upstream of the village of Lauzet. You can see the map of the Ubaye river.
When can you do Hydrospeed on Ubaye?
C’est un parcours de nage en eau-vive qui se navigue en dessous de 30 mètres cubes secondes et jusqu’au 6 mètres cubes minimum. Nous avons généralement ces niveaux d’eau de juillet à septembre. C’est la période la plus propice pour découvrir une nature sauvage et glisser entre des incroyables rapides.
Le niveau de l’Ubaye nous est donnée grâce à vigicrue capté par une cellule à Barcelonnette et une autre à l’embouchure de l’Ubaye et du lac de serre ponçon
Au Printemps, lorsque l’Ubaye dépasse son niveau d’eau maximum pour la bonne pratique de l’Hydrospeed, nous proposons un autre parcours qui se situe un peu plus haut dans la vallée. C’est le parcours surnommée « TE-FE », au départ du Village des Thuilles à 5 km en dessous de Barcelonnette et jusqu’au village de la Frésquiére. C’est un parcours à volume, c’est à dire que l’Ubaye est gorgée d’eau et que les rapides ne sont principalement que des vagues, ainsi vous expérimenterez de nouvelles sensations aquatiques.
