Crazy water rafting ouvre la saison eau vive 2026
Ce n’est pas une blague, crazy water rafting ouvre le 15 Mars ! Comme chaque année, nous attaquons la saison le premier week-end d’avril, quand le climat se réchauffe dans les Alpes du Sud .
Thanks to this wonderful, snowy winter which delighted us in skiing, particularly in the valley of theUBAYE and the stations of Pra Wolf, le Sauze et St Anne ; nous sommes très confiants pour cette saison d’été.

The snow is very present on the peaks of Ubaye. We will not lack water reserves this year, whether for the Ubaye river or for the Serre Ponçon lake.
For the conditions this spring, everything will depend on the weather in April and the temperatures:
- If the end of winter is rather cold: we will have a gradual rise in the level of the river, with a nice flood in June.
- If the end of winter is mild, with peaks of heat in May: we will have floods with variable water levels.

Finally some water...Lots of water ! Après une saison 2022 un peu difficile, surtout pour le niveau du Lac de Serre Ponçon, nous pouvons enfin compter sur cette saison 2026 !
With a cold winter and regular snowfall, we can ensure a good water level until the end of summer.
Rafting, hydrospeed, kayaking airboat, hotdog… all activities will be possible on the Ubaye river.
Les nouveautés 2026 à Crazy Water Rafting :
The Raft Pack in Ubaye
The Packraft is a new boat, which is starting to emerge all over the world. It's adventure kayak par excellence ! This inflatable mini-raft has a streamlined shape, like a kayak, for good gliding. The basic design of the Raft pack is suitable for treks in the great outdoors. Deflated in a backpack, it is light and allows access to wild rivers. It is a very stable boat and easier to maneuver than an Airboat kayak.
The Crazy Water rafting team tested the raft pack last summer, on all the Ubaye routes and even the extreme parts (for those in the know, Ex du haut and Ex du bas).
This season, we can therefore offer Pack Raft outings on the Ubaye, in a small group. Currently we are organizing outings over 2 days, with wild bivouac on the banks of the Ubaye.
Improvements on the base
La base de Crazy Water se peaufine avec l’âge ! Pour sa 16 ème saison, elle s’est offerte un beau parking. Certes ce n’est pas très sexy, mais très pratique. La création de cette ouverture de 300 m2, permet d’accueillir jusqu’à 10 véhicules supplémentaires.
For the Crazy Bubble part, wooden platforms were installed to better access the bubbles.
A new cabin has grown in the winter! Between the sanitary facilities and the shower, a bathroom space is created. Cloakroom, bathroom, to take the time to make yourself look beautiful.
L’aventure aquatique, toujours d’actualité pour la saison 2026 ?
Last season we launched this new activity of ”floating”, river swimming in the gorges of Lauzet Ubaye. The success was there…everyone loved it!
The Crazy Water river guides also appreciated this fun and playful activity. We will therefore continue the Aquatic Adventure this season, at least from August!
Most suitable white water activities depending on the period
Rafting
Rafting is done throughout the season, from the beginning of April to the beginning of October. In spring it is the activity par excellence, the waves are beautiful and alone rafting is practicable. In July and August, rafting is suitable for families and sports enthusiasts, depending on the route.
Hydrospeed
We start thehydrospeed activity from the opening of Crazy. The water is cold but the thick wetsuits keep the body warm. It is even possible to have two neoprene pieces of equipment if necessary.
In June, the routes vary depending on the floods and their intensities. We always find the route best suited to you and the conditions of the day. July is the best time to practice hydrospeed. The water level is perfect. Generally this lasts until August 15…once again it is nature that decides. For the second half of August, we stop the activity, except the day after rain, when the river level rises, but it is random.
The kayak raft / Hotdog
For the practice of these single-seater boats and two-seaters, the water level of the'Ubaye should not be too high. The best period is from mid-July to the end of September. We can practice kayaking in spring, but on adapted routes, around Jausiers and Barcelonnette. At the end of summer, we like to offer this activity to athletes, when rafting on the Ubaye becomes too family-friendly.
