You should know that it is the slope which creates the rapids (the height difference). If we take the example of the Durance or Rh\u00f4ne rivers which have a very high flow rate in cubic meters, we might think that the river is fast. But this is not the case, because there is no difference in altitude (slope) which does not create white water rapids.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lake Serre Pon\u00e7on and Ubaye<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If there is no water in the Serre Pon\u00e7on lake, there is no water in Ubaye?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>The flow of the Ubaye<\/strong> does not directly influence the height of Lake Serre Pon\u00e7on. This is due to the fact that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crazywater-rafting.com\/en\/the-greenhouse-poncon-lake\/\">Serre Pon\u00e7on lake<\/a> is an artificial lake created by the construction of a dam on the Durance, downstream from the confluence with the Ubaye. The Serre Pon\u00e7on dam regulates the <strong>Speed<\/strong> of the Durance and to store a significant quantity of water for various uses, including hydroelectric power production, agricultural irrigation, and low water and flood management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Its flow<\/strong> may be subject to variations depending on weather conditions, precipitation and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crazywater-rafting.com\/en\/limportance-de-la-neige-sur-la-riviere\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">from melting snow<\/a>, but these variations do not directly affect the level of Lake Serre Pon\u00e7on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In summary, the Serre Pon\u00e7on lake is an artificial water reservoir whose level is mainly regulated by the dam according to water needs and the management of flows on the Durance and the Ubaye.
